Awkwafina An American performer and actress, started with a series of rap songs which dealt with the subject of race and sexuality. Her career expanded to Hollywood after she released a series of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came from the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. When she graduated, she started to focus on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. After having a great career as a singer, she decided to take on the role of an actor. Aside from early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. The actress made headlines in the year 2018, with several notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
