Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's departure from her household, the actress was raised up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. Ford was suffering from anxiety disorder that was rooted in the word association when she was a child. Ford started to become fascinated by acting at the age of teenager and joined the National Youth Theatre. She was accepted to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. However, after only a month, she decided that it wasn't the right fit for her. Ford later applied for a spot in the Central School of Speech and Drama and was admitted on her fourth attempt. Shaun Dingwall - who later appeared as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who was also one of her fellow students. Ford could graduate in 1993. She already made a TV appearance in the 1992 episode Surgical Spirit. She adopted the title Catherine Tate. Tate was seen in television shows like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly, and London's Burning in the Nineties. The stage was her main focus, and joined the company's 2000-2001 season. Tate started to get noticed because of her stand-up comedic performances in 1996.
